Paradis: Director

GCSE Biology and Chemistry Tutor

Hi I’m Paradis - a DBS certified tutor for GCSE Biology, Chemistry, and KS3 science.

I am a Neuroscience student at the University of St. Andrews and have a keen interest in the cognition behind learning and development.

My experience tutoring has shown me that each student is different in their learning styles, therefore I tailor every lesson to the individual needs; whether that be breaking down topics into easily digestible units or jumping straight into the toughest questions that can come up on the exam. I believe it is never too late to stretch for top marks, I have seen students jump over 3 grades in a matter of months.

Exams can be an incredibly stressful time for students and so I would love to work together to help build your scientific and educational confidence!

Whether you are trying to expand your understanding in science or pushing for an exam I am dedicated to help you reach your goal.

Parisa: Director

GCSE Maths Tutor

Hi I'm Parisa - A DBS certified GCSE maths tutor and have been preparing students to sit AQA and Edexcel exams for the past 4 years.

After my previous success of achieving an A* in A level maths, I went on to study Economics and Accounting BSc at the University of Bristol and am an incoming analyst at JPMorgan Chase & Co.

Having experienced online learning myself at university, I implement my teaching to how I wish I were taught, through creating an interactive, collaborative environment with my students. My experience has taught me that every student is unique and what works for one may not necessarily work for others. For this, I tailor my lessons to each individual student whether that be working through past papers or breaking things down into sub-topics and gradually increasing the difficulty of the questions to still challenge my students.

I understand how stressful exams can be and the amount of pressure students today are facing. For this I hope to help ease the process and ultimately provide students with the confidence they need in their academic studies to succeed.

Kian

GCSE Physics and Maths Tutor

Hi I'm Kian - a GCSE Physics and Maths tutor.

I am an Economics and Accounting student at Bristol University and also an incoming summer analyst at JPMorgan Chase & Co. Through my GCSEs and A level studies, I have an in-depth knowledge of the maths and physics syllabus.

I have been fortunate enough to teach maths to children in Kenya, which this experience is what motivated me to pursue tutoring.

I am aware that every pupil have individual ways of learning and I will tailor my lessons accordingly. I will work closely with the student to find out what works best for his or her individual needs and I will make sure that I work hard to make sure they are in the best position for their exams. After my previous success in achieving an A* in both GCSE maths and physics and doing Pre-University physics for A-level as well as partaking in online learning myself, I can understand the difficulties that the student might find when preparing for their GCSEs and will work my hardest to make sure each lesson is as customised to make sure we are as productive as possible.

A Level Economics and Maths

GCSE Maths, Economics, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Geography and Business Studies Tutor

I am a DBS-verified A Level and GCSE Economics and Maths tutor, with over 500 hours of previous tutoring experience. I recently graduated with a BSc in Economics and Finance from the University of Bristol, and I currently teach A-Level Economics at a Top 10 independent school in London.

I have been tutoring ever since I finished my A-Levels, and am proud to have already undertaken over 500 hours of previous one-to-one and group tuition lessons. My teaching style revolves around ensuring that the pupil is able to understand and relate concepts to real life, rather than just memorising them for assessments. I deliver lessons in-line with syllabus guidelines, and use constant assessment via past exam material to ensure student understanding, whilst also helping polish what they struggle with most; which is exam technique.

Overall, I strive to establish a great working relationship with the student ensuring that they are consistently meeting set targets, whilst pushing them to unlocking their full potential.

Anabel

GCSE Spanish, French, History
A-Level Law, Psychology, Spanish, History

Hi, I’m Anabel - I just graduated from the University of Cambridge with a 2.1 in Law.

I tutor GCSE Spanish, French and History, and A-Level Law, Spanish, Psychology and History. Since I’m half Spanish, I speak it fluently and have previous experience tutoring GCSE Spanish. I achieved A*s in A level French and Psychology, and an A in History, so I’m well placed to help students improve in these areas. I also achieved 11 A*s and 1 A in my GCSEs.

Over the course of my own education, I have spent time researching the best ways to learn and revise, particularly in humanities subjects which require lots of memorisation. I am confident I can now pass on these effective revision strategies to help students demonstrate how much they know when the crucial exam comes around.

I approach tutoring by breaking down concepts and tailoring my explanations to the student, since everyone learns differently. I try to find the fun in the work also, as I believe that learning should be enjoyable and rewarding. I look forward to helping more students expand their knowledge and pursue their goals!

Keyona

GCSE and A-level English and Music

ABRSM Theory

Hi! I'm Keyona - an English Literature, Language, and Music tutor for GCSE and A-Level students. I graduated with a 2.1 English Literature undergraduate degree from the University of St Andrews and I am currently undertaking my masters in Modern and Contemporary Literature. I have taught music theory for five years. Throughout my time as a tutor and at university, I understand that each student will be slightly different, which will determine my approach to exercises and discussions. Quite often, students will find the arts don't necessarily have the same formula you can memorise in STEM-based subjects, however, there are certains methods that can be applied to almost any essay-based assignment or exam that will guarantee results.

Exams can be an incredibly stressful period for students and I aim to help alleviate any pressure and concerns they may face. The key to success is practice and confidence, and that is just what I want to instill in my students.

Sonali

GCSE Maths and Physics

Hi, I'm Sonali - a GCSE Maths and Physics tutor, and I study Mechanical Engineering at the University of Leeds.

In the past, I have taught Gujarati, where I worked closely with a student who had global special needs, and then went onto becoming the main teacher for a class of ten students. This opportunity enabled me to develop great communication and leadership skills.

Having studied Maths and Further Maths A-Level, I have practiced and gained many revision techniques, which I explore with students in my lessons. I always recommend doing past paper questions, as it allows the student to understand what to expect in exams.

I am flexible in lessons by working around students’ schedules, adhering to their needs and adapting my teaching style when necessary. Additionally, I am aware of the stress that these subjects can cause some students and thus, am always patient with them – if I need to repeat myself several times, I am more than happy to do so.

I always find fun and interesting ways to have my students engaged – this way students look forward to their next lesson with me.

Anokhi

GCSE Biology

Hi, I’m Anokhi, a second-year biology student at the university of St Andrews, and a biology GCSE tutor.
My passion for the subject not only secured my place on the Dean’s list for academic achievement, but it is also what makes me an enthusiastic and well-equipped tutor.
Having spent the majority of my A-levels online, I understand the challenges of virtual learning, and can apply not only what I learnt from that, but also the different methods I used to keep up my grades during this time.
Whether it’s revising the content or working on past paper questions, I have no doubt that my excitement for the subject will be infectious!

Cyrus

A-level Chemistry and Maths

Hi - My name is Cyrus and I study Chemistry at the University of St. Andrews.

My aim is to create a confident and inspiring environment for students so they can further question and learn about Chemistry and Maths - through theory or exam questions. I believe believing in yourself and being confident are by far the most important attributes needed to succeed at GCSE and A-level exams, hence my teaching style focuses on a holistic approach to content to ensure students score as highly as possible.

Studying Chemistry builds a plethora of quantitative skills which are applicable to many professions. The three stems of Chemistry (Organic, Inorganic and Physical) are constantly intertwined within content, showing a great example of problem solving skills which is why I love the subject.

GCSE & A-Level Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and GCSE Physics, Economics, Geography and
ABRSM theory

I am a A level, GCSE and 13+ tutor in a variety of subjects with over 450 hours of previous tutoring lessons over the last 3 years. I currently am studying biotechnology with enterprise at the university of Manchester where I will be graduating in the next few months.

My teaching method has a few steps involved. Firstly, I would ensure the student understands the topics and can apply the knowledge rather than cramming the work. This helps them relate to real life events and prevents memorising the work. After they have understood the topic, we will go through exam style questions. I will take them through some examples and give them a few questions to do by themselves. The difficulty will increase as they progress. We will also carry out multiple topic questions to refresh their memory.

My lessons are delivered in line with the syllabus guidelines and requirements. I use the exam board text books as well as past papers from other boards to understand the different types of questions. I also understand that students have different exam techniques, therefore we work towards refining their goal. I am able to teach AQA, Edexcel, Cambridge and OCR.

I create a good relationship with the student whereby they feel comfortable to ask me any questions. I push the students to meet their targets and create new goals as we move along this journey!

Alicia

GCSE & A-Level Geography

Hi I’m Alicia – A GCSE and A-Level Geography Tutor

As a current BSc Geography Student in my final year at Loughborough University I have already had previous experience tutoring university modules to first year students and am looking to bring this to helping students achieve the best possible grades in their GSCE and A-Level exams. Having achieved a 9 at GCSE and an A at A-Level I feel as though I am well placed to do this.

Throughout my academic career I have noticed that within the classroom environment the methods of teaching are not well suited to all types of learners. I saw this pattern continue with my own experience of online learning at school and university. I want to help bridge the gap that has been lost between student and teacher due to the lack of support to all types of learners by providing tailored sessions to students to account for their needs and help provide the support they lack in a classroom environment.

I use a mostly exam-based method where I focus on preparing the student towards approaching different exam questions, as well as recapping material and providing targets for the students to reach in order for them to reach their full potential in a fun and rewarding way.
